Frequently asked questions

Below you can find the most frequently asked questions and answers per category.

Armada.gold connects private buyers and sellers directly. Sellers always get a better price than from a dealer, while buyers can purchase below the usual retail price. Each listing clearly indicates whether shipping or collection is possible. Sellers can also set a minimum price to protect themselves against price fluctuations. Unlike classified or auction sites, prices are automatically adjusted to the current gold and silver rates, allowing you to buy or sell immediately at the right price. Armada.gold is designed to protect buyers and sellers from scammers and time-wasters common on traditional classified websites, ensuring smooth, fair, and reliable transactions.

No. Armada.gold is a brokerage platform (intermediary). We connect private buyers and sellers. We do not sell, buy, or store the gold ourselves.

Under Article 2 of our Terms, there is no "right of withdrawal." Because bullion prices depend on market fluctuations, all transactions are legally binding once the lock-in payment is made.

A price is locked in once you pay the fee. This creates a binding contract between you and the seller.

Sellers are contractually obligated to deliver. If they fail to do so, they face significant financial penalties (minimum €250). While Armada.gold is a facilitator, we take seller defaults seriously and will assist in providing the necessary documentation for dispute resolution.

The handover of the purchased gold or silver and the payment of the principal amount can take place at our office in the Leuven area. We also provide on-site authenticity testing.

Yes. For in-person pick-ups, sellers cannot refuse non-destructive testing (e.g., Sigma Metalytics or density tests). The buyer must provide the equipment and cover any costs involved.

When meeting the seller for the handover and payment, you can, of course, verify the authenticity of the goods using non-destructive methods: - Weight: Verify if the gold or silver matches the advertised weight using a precise digital scale. - Magnet test: Gold and silver are non-magnetic. If the item is attracted to a magnet, it likely contains iron or nickel. Note: this is not definitive proof, as some other base metals are also non-magnetic. - Conductivity test (Sigma Metalytics): This device measures electrical conductivity without removing the metal from its packaging. It is ideal for bars or coins in sealed assay cards. - XRF Analysis: A handheld scanner uses X-rays to provide an exact composition within seconds (e.g., 91.6% gold, 5% copper). This method is highly accurate and non-destructive. If you are unable to perform these tests yourself, you are welcome at one of our testing locations to have the authenticity of your gold or silver verified on-site.

We do not accept cash payments for our commission, nor do we facilitate cash settlements for the principal amount when transactions are handled at our office or a testing location.

In the rare event of a technical "price feed error," both the buyer and seller (or Armada.gold) have the right to cancel the transaction without penalty.

You must ship the item within two (2) working days after you receive the remaining balance from the buyer.

The seller bears the full risk of loss or damage until the item is successfully delivered to the buyer. We strongly recommend using high-value insured shipping services

If you back out of a "locked-in" deal, you are liable for a breach of contract. You will be charged the original commission plus a 100% surcharge (minimum €250).

Only authentic bullion matching the described purity. Selling counterfeit, plated, or altered items is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the Belgian criminal authorities.

To comply with Belgian and EU Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, we must verify the identity of our users. This ensures a safe, transparent marketplace for high-value assets.

Safety is a priority. If a buyer deems a proposed location unsafe, the seller must agree to a public, high-security location like a hotel lobby, bank branch, or a busy restaurant.

If a dispute cannot be resolved between the buyer and seller, it must be submitted to the Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation, Rue du Tilleul 98, 1030 Brussels, www.arbitrage-mediation.be). Belgian laws apply.
